Homes For Our Troops
Veteran homebuilder John Gonsalves created Homes For Our Troops in 2004 after seeing news reports about severely injured soldiers and Marines returning from war with life-altering injuries. He was determined to build and remodel homes for these service members and their families to provide them with independence they once knew. Through our growing network of professional trades people, corporate in-kind donations, and contributions from foundations and individuals across the USA, Homes for Our Troops provides these homes at no cost to the veteran.
Homes for Our Troops is proud to be included in the “Top-Rated Veterans & Military Charities” by The American Institute of Philanthropy.
Phil Mickelson joined the team in 2004. He volunteered to contribute $100 for every birdie and $500 for every eagle he made on the PGA Tour that season and has been a generous contributor ever since. Even more importantly, Phil’s leadership has raised tremendous awareness in Homes and our fundraising has improved markedly as a result.
To date we have delivered 40 homes in 25 states and have dozens more in varying stages of construction. We’re pleased to have this opportunity to thank Phil Mickelson and his wife, Amy, who have been our most public supporters.

U.S. Army veteran Juan Beltran and wife Gavi were honored at the dinner held on behalf of Amy and Phil Mickelson’s support of Homes For Our Troops.
